Terms & Conditions

1. Fees & Payment

1.1. Fees are billed on a monthly subscription basis. Subscriptions are due on the day of issue and must be paid via subscription mandate only.
1.2. A non-refundable registration and one-off admin fee is payable when joining. This covers administration costs and includes a Performance Hub t-shirt.
1.3. A yearly membership fee per student is payable every September (or upon joining if later in the year). This covers insurance, licensing, and administration costs.
1.4. We reserve the right to charge a late fee at the discretion of the directors.
1.5. Discounts or refunds will not be given for classes missed by the pupil, unless arranged in advance with the directors.
1.6. All fees are non-refundable. In the case of a long-term illness or injury, fees may be refunded at the directors’ discretion. This does not include minor illness or holidays taken during term time.
1.7. If you do not receive confirmation of a subscription payment, please notify the directors immediately.

2. Classes & Attendance

2.1. If a class is cancelled, it will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience.
2.2. The Performance Hub will not be held responsible for classes cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g. adverse weather, force majeure, hall unavailability).
2.3. Students must arrive on time and be collected promptly at the end of class.
2.4. Any child not collected on time will remain inside the locked building, but staff supervision cannot be guaranteed once class time has ended. Parents take full responsibility for their child’s safety and wellbeing after their class has finished.
2.5. Parents/carers must drop off and collect their children at the designated entry/exit points as directed by staff.

3. Trial Sessions & Enrolment

3.1. We offer a one-week paid trial session (£8).
3.2. If the student continues after the trial, parents/carers must complete the registration form, which includes emergency contact details, social media consent, and GDPR consent.
3.3. The registration/admin fee and yearly membership fee must be paid in order to secure a place. A subscription will then be created.

4. Withdrawal Policy

4.1. One month’s written notice is required to cancel a subscription.
4.2. Fees already paid are non-refundable.

5. Corrections & Physical Contact

5.1. Dance and performing arts are physical activities, and teachers may need to physically guide movements by touch in order to support learning.
5.2. This will always be conducted in a professional manner, and the purpose of the contact will be explained to the student.

6. Uniform & Appearance

6.1. Students must wear the recommended uniform for each class. One t-shirt is provided as part of the registration fee; additional items can be purchased through the school.
6.2. Appropriate footwear must be worn for specific classes:

  • Ballet: Ballet shoes
  • Jazz / Musical Theatre: Black jazz shoes
  • Street: Trainers
  • Acro: Bare feet
6.3. Hair must be tied back neatly and securely off the face and neck.
6.4. Jewellery must not be worn in class for safety reasons.

7. Lost Property

7.1. Students are responsible for their own belongings. The Performance Hub accepts no responsibility for lost or stolen items.
7.2. Any items left behind will be kept for one week before being disposed of.

8. Watching Classes

8.1. Parents are not permitted to watch weekly classes, as this can distract students.
8.2. At the principal’s discretion, parents will be invited to watch during designated “open class” sessions at the end of the Autumn and Spring terms.

9. Photography & Media

9.1. The Performance Hub may occasionally take photographs or videos of students for marketing purposes, including use on social media, the website, or printed materials. Consent is requested via the GDPR consent form.
9.2. Parents may take photographs at workshops or open classes, unless another parent objects on the day. Teachers will always confirm before photos are taken.
9.3. Video recording is not permitted for safeguarding and copyright reasons.

10. Data Protection

10.1. All personal data is handled in line with our GDPR policy.
10.2. Data may be used for:

  • Lesson, exam, and show information
  • Invoicing and payment records
  • School news and updates
  • Emergency notifications
  • Medical information to ensure a safe environment
10.3. Data will never be shared with third parties without consent.

11. General

11.1. The timetable may be subject to change; parents will be notified of any alterations.
11.2. Dance and performing arts carry a level of physical risk. Students participate at their own risk.
11.3. Any breach of these terms may result in the student being asked to leave the school, with no refund given.
11.4. Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, as well as our Risk Assessments, are available on request.
